R311 - Newport Road to Lannagh Road

The Scheme involves the construction of Phase 2 of the R311 Link Road Newport Road to R311 Lannagh Road Roundabout, Castlebar incorporating a vehicular/pedestrian crossing of the Castlebar River and associated accommodation works. Phase 1 of the Link Road was constructed in 2007 now called Stephen Garvey Way.

Construction began on the Link Road in Summer 2009 and it is expected to open Autumn 2010. The contract was awarded to Ward & Burke Construction Limited (WBCL).
