Parking
The Parking Section, through the issuing of parking fines and constant monitoring of the town, strive to ensure the free-flow of traffic and parking spaces within the town. Pay & Display operates in all the car parks and also on-street parking, where a ticket can be purchased from the pay and display machines. The purchased ticket must then be displayed visibly on the vehicle dashboard.
Castlebar Town Council employs 2 Traffic Wardens to ensure that parking regulations are adhered to and to monitor the free flow of traffic. Wardens are on duty Monday to Saturday. They issue fixed charge notices (penalties) to illegally parked cars and may also issue tickets for failing to display a current tax disc.
